Funny question. I think about "home" a lot, and I would not say that I have one home to miss. When I am going to my parents' houses a few hours away, I say I'm going home. When I'm out with a friend and it's time to return to my dorm, I say I'm going home. When I am out with my boyfriend and we're going back to his house, that's going home. Going to his parents' house nearby is going home, too. I think a more interesting question to ask me would be, What will you miss if you had one place to call home? I think I would miss the flexibility I have in where I can feel at home. I might someday have a place of permanent residence, but home will always be where the VIPs in my life are :)

Myself. Just when I think I have myself figured out, I'm wrong again. I love this, and it drives me insane.

To remind me that my mission is worthwhile, even if I don't see the positive results come to fruition during this lifetime.

Honesty in personal relationships. It's so hard to be honest when you don't want to hurt someone...but that just means I'm putting off the pain for that person :(

I feel so alive when I'm making plans and doing research to improve my chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, the national co-ed community service fraternity. When I joined in Winter 2006, the organization was doing well enough. Now it's been a year and a half, and we haven't done as much growing as I'd hoped. We doubled our membership, but I know we can do more. The values and activities of APhiO are so important to me that I get energized while doing the stuff that many would call "work" for the group!

I would teach this community how to consider the consequences of their shopping and living habits...like when buying an outfit at the mall, knowing that it was not made in a sweatshop...or when leaving the TV on when you aren't watching it, knowing that you are wasting energy and having an effect on the planet....or when you are picking out cleaning supplies, choosing ones that won't kill anything. However, I need someone to teach ME how to do all this first, because it's very challenging! I don't know wher to look to find out this information, and how to carry it with me as I go. But if I could, I so would!
